

A Showcase of Breed Perfection
The Dog Show Breed Standard Challenge is a unique competition class for breeders, handlers, groomers, and dog show enthusiasts who are passionate about presenting dogs at true show standard level.

Participants compete within the four official categories — Handstripping, Spaniels & Setters, Poodles, and Other Pure Breeds Scissoring — judged through a dog show-inspired format that highlights breed accuracy, presentation, and refinement.
This class celebrates the art of maintaining and showcasing breed standards, offering a platform for those dedicated to precision grooming and authentic show presentation.
JUDGING & RESULTS
Judging is based purely on visual evaluation, without combing or physically touching the dog.

Judges assess:

Adherence to breed standards

Overall presentation and finish

Balance, structure, and movement

All scoring is conducted openly, with judges announcing their points in front of both competitors and the audience.

At the end of the class, the top three participants are awarded:

THE FORMAT
The Dog Show Breed Standard Challenge is open to breeders, handlers, groomers, and dog show enthusiasts who aim to present dogs at true breed standard level.

All participants compete together in one unified class, regardless of their original category.
​
Grooming time is identical to the regular competition, with no additional time provided.
​
Dogs must have a minimum of 3 weeks of coat growth, ensuring enough length to achieve a proper breed-standard groom.
​
Each dog is presented and briefly walked in the ring, allowing judges to evaluate movement, balance, and overall conformation.
​
This class does not count towards Best in Show or progression to other competition classes.
