Joanne Angus
Joanne has over 40 years’ experience in the grooming industry, beginning as a Saturday assistant and progressing to an award-winning groomer, judge, and industry leader. She is the Director of Look North Grooming & Training Centre and Summit Groomer Training Group, a City & Guilds approved centre supporting the largest network of grooming schools in the UK. Many of her former students have gone on to international success and to run thriving businesses.
Joanne works closely with City & Guilds, Ofqual, and VetSkill, contributing to the development of grooming, animal care, apprenticeships, and land-based qualifications. Her roles include board member of the City & Guilds Animal & Equine Employer and Industry Board, Ofqual Subject Matter Specialist, Independent End Point Assessor, and former external examiner.
A multiple award-winning competitor, including twice being named British Groomer of the Year, an approved European Grooming Association judge, co-founder and chair of Groom Team England, and co-organiser of the internationally recognised PremierGroom competition. Joanne is also a co-author of two industry textbooks and a founder member of the Guild of Master Groomers.
Joanne has received Lifetime Achievement and Leadership Awards and remains committed to supporting groomers and promoting excellence, education, customer care, and animal welfare within the profession.
