01 Poodle

Anders Rossell: Have you ever seen the Toilette-60 trim done the Scandinavian way? This demo will certainly give you the opportunity as Anders will demonstrate the trim done his way, the Scandinavian way with the history behind it. He will tell the story about the trim and how it once evolved in Scandinavia in the 70′s when he first started out as a grooming student. He was there when it all started, so he’s THE person to talk about it!

Anders has shown several top winners in this trim – one of them was the world famous Standard Poodle Ch Avatar Concord who was shown competitively in this trim up until he was 10 years old. This beautiful trim has become a very popular trim for grooming competitors all over the world, and it’s a trim currently being the subject of becoming an approved show trim in countries like Canada. Needless to say, there will be oodles of poodle tips on how to style this trim! Don’t miss it!

02 Irish Waterspaniel

Shaunna is thrilled to speak about the Irish Water spaniel as it is a breed she has done very well with over the years. She received the privilege of showing American/Canadian Grand.Fin.Est.ch.Mystic Torin,CD,RN,WC; the all time top winning Irish Water spaniel in the history of the breed. Winning 35 BIS,130 Group 1st, BOB at Westminster as well as BOS and OAM. She learned a lot with Torin. Shaunna wasn’t very good at grooming Irish Water spaniels in the beginning as she made them look like poodles. She was very fortunate to apprentice with the great Mr. Greg Sinner of Poole’s Ide Kennels in New York. He was so good to her and really helped her to understand the breed and how to trim them. She must thank him for all the success she has had in this breed. She’s looking forward to sharing her tricks with you!

She has just bred her first litter of Irish Water spaniels and is waiting on a very exciting litter by American/Canadian CH. Sylmar Raindancer x CH. Coomera’s Forever Tor’n RN.

03 English Cocker

Come and enjoy this experienced groomer. Let him show you all his secrets and the techniques he uses to groom the English Cocker with an amazing result!

He will explain you exactly why he uses certain techniques and you will see, even in the smallest details, how this artist operates.

04 Schnauzer

Come and enjoy the demonstration of Shaunna Bernardin. This successful Spanish groomer will gladly show you everything about grooming! His speciality is the maintenance of the Schnauzer breed. At an early age he looked after the dogs from his parents kennel. A few years later he became co-owner of the kennel “Tajinastes”. He doesn’t turn his back on any challenge and he has already achieved more than 80 titles and championships.

Shaunna  will teach you how to groom your dog in a professional way. His tricks will show you how to prepare a Schnauzer for a show. This demonstration is an absolute must for a true dog groomer!

09 Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier is a breed that has become very popular over the last years. Corinna notices this clearly in her grooming salon. Cavaliers come in different colours, coat structures and sizes, but one thing always remains the same: their treatment has to occur as natural as possible.

Corinna will explain how you can realize this. Questions as : “How can you style the Cavalier as natural as possible”?, “How do you minimize the use of scissors?”, “The difference between domestic- and show dog”, “The difference between short and long coat”… will certainly be answered.

When grooming a Cavalier, you certainly mustn’t forget the communication between the customer and groomer, since every Cavalier is different. The treatment must be adjusted to this communication to make every Cavalier look fabulous.

14 Terrier Heads

After having attended this specific ‘Terrier Heads’ demonstration, the heads of the Terriers will no longer have secrets for you! THE specialist in Terriers, Rony De Munter, will extensively explain you the difference between all the different high legged terriers and their heads. Besides this, he will show you the possibilities in expressions and grooming. Learn how you can improve a head to come to the right expression. 15 West Highland White

The Westie is a wonderful breed which is very popular in Shaunna’s country, both in the show ring as well as in her salons. She has shown a number of Westies in Canada and the US and the top winning puppy of all times with 14 BPIS. She experienced that some people have difficulties grooming Westies and hopes to share some tips that will help you with this breed.

 

16 Scottish terrier

Betty Smit is a specialist when it comes to grooming the Scottish Terrier. She will gladly provide you with all her techniques and knowledge! Among other things, she will explain you the convenience of a rollingcoat and why this is so essential for show dogs. When grooming a Scottish Terrier, it is necessary to always use the right equipment. Only then, a perfect result can be achieved. She will explain this further during her seminar. 18 Bedlington

Raffaella will reveal all her secrets on how to successfully groom the Bedlington Terrier. She will take you through the different parts of this wonderful breed step by step.

19 Fox Terrier

During this seminar, Rony De Munter will teach you the right finish for the well known Fox Terrier. Because of his lifelong experience with this breed, he can perfectly show you how you can give the body and legs the necessary finishing touch. He will also demonstrate you how you can get the right expression for the Fox Terrier. Questions as “What to do in case of a short head?” and “How should I best prepare my Fox Terrier to participate at a grooming competition?”, will certainly be answered during this seminar. 20 Bobtail

Old English Sheepdogs (bobtails) is a breed close to Barbara’s heart. Her first major success in grooming contests was with a Bobtail at Intergroom in 1999- winning the Rags to Riches contest  with a dog that was 4 years old, in show coat, and had never had a full haircut in his life. She continued to groom Sheepdogs in competition and was lucky to have 5 gorgeous bobtails in her life that made her win over $12,000.00 in prize money with.

In this demo you will see that the big hairy dog that looks like a mission impossible can be turned into a beautiful, stylish and artistic creation. This fun loving dog and Barbara will show you how easy it is to make a drastic change in their appearance.

Scissoring techniques and creativity will be abundant in this demo.

21 Bichon

Lindsey will show you how to prepare the Bichon Frisé for shows, American style.  She will teach you how to evaluate the dog’s structure and how to groom the dog to show off it’s good points and how to correct its flaws.  She’ll show you simple tricks to create balance and a beautiful profile and also how to create a beautiful head and expression.

Different types of shears and techniques will be used to obtain a beautiful, smooth finish on the coat, so you can make any Bichon look like a champion.

22 Kerry blue Terrier

The Kerry Blue is a difficult breed to groom and not many groomers know and perfectly control the standard of this breed.

Martial Carré will be present to give you a demonstration on how to groom the Kerry. How you can hide flaws in the shape, make the appearance more impressive and many other subjects will be discussed.

This demo will teach you the best techniques as well as how you should pay attention to the lines of the breed to achieve perfection.

23 Irish Setter

Shaunna is very excited to talk about the Irish Setters, as this was her first love as a small child. Her mother raised them for 25 years and Shaunna has very fond memories of the breed. This was also the first breed she learned to groom and show. She does not breed them anymore, but she will always have a strong love and good understanding for the breed.

She must brag for a moment and tell you that her youngest brother, Adam Bernardin, was number 3 of all breeds this year in America with the very lovely Irish Setter, American/Canadian ch Shadagge, Caught Red Handed, Emily.

He won 49 BIS, Group First at Morris and Essex, and BOB American national specialty winner. He is the top winning Irish Setter in the history of the breed. Her family is so proud of him for achieving this award, as it was their foundation breed over 40 years ago.

24 Labradoodle

Labradoodles and Golden doodles are very popular in the Netherlands. Their amount increases also very quickly in Belgium. But the coat care is often neglected by the owners. At the same time, some groomers don’t know what to do with the different kinds of coats. Monja Hermans is among other things working in a kennel where Doodles with different types of coats are bred.

The coat care and the explanation concerning this dogs are her speciality. During specialisation courses, she explains this to groomers. She will give you all sorts of hints about the coat care of the Golden Doodle and the Labradoodle. She will show you various techniques on this dogs. Since she was named Groomer with the Best Technique in the Netherlands in 2009, this is very familiar to her. At Groomania, you will have the possibility to see her at work with different types of Doodles.

25 Commercial York

Through the years, Monique has owned a very peculiar cutting technique. She has absolutely no problem with cutting pure and mixed breeds with long fur in a commercial, but still unique way.

Her specialty is removing minor flaws by cutting the coat a little shorter or leaving it just a bit longer on the correct places, by using the right technique. Because of this, Monique gives every dog the grace and elegance he deserves. With this demonstration, Monique is going to reveal this unusual cutting techniques and tricks one by one. Especially this makes her demonstration an interesting and educational journey.

26 Commercial Poodle

Styling poodles is a true art. Working fast and efficiently in a grooming salon is an absolute must! The poodle breed comes in many variations of sizes, colours and models. Corinna is now working with poodles for over 15 years, on a daily basis. That is why this is a unique opportunity to be guided by Corinna to bring out the best in your poodle! Which model fits which dog, even if it is a commercial model… All your questions will be answered in this seminar! She will certainly discuss how you can mark your dog in lines fast and efficiently, improve the angles, hide flaws, where you have to pay attention to and how you can know which model to apply to which dog. The Shih tzu is a breed that is also very close to Shaunna’s heart. She was a breeder of them for over 20 years, and has had a great amount of success with them. She loves their sunny personality and loyalty. Shaunna is very excited to do the commercial Shih tzu. She feels that this cut is where people make a lot of money with in their salons. In her shops this is one of the most popular breeds, accounting for as high as 50%! She will talk about different ways to do the Shih tzu and different tools to make the drop coats easier to deal with. She will show you tricks that will make you money in your salons every day.

28 Commercial Cocker

The English Cocker is one of Sue’s favorite breeds to groom. With this particular breed she won a lot of prizes when she was in the Groom Team USA.

In this fun demo she will show you how to achieve the correct look of the English Cocker. Even if you only have a Cocker that you don’t show, you can learn a lot, since the lines are the same as for a show dog!

She will teach you how to give this dog a beautiful, natural look and also leave less hair! Both things will only make your client happier! Next to all these items she will also go over the different methods of grooming this breed and also show you how to create that “show dog – look” on your own English Cocker!
